Leaving Gondolin

Description

This is my contribution to the Tolkien contest at :icongrimgloomtale:: Túor and his wife Idril casting one last glance at the burning city of Gondolin before going into exile.
This was the one scene that almost instantly entered my mind when I read the keywords. As you can see, it contains fire, mountains, ruins, smoke, a couple and a flower (very tiny one, supposed to be a symbol of hope). One may also add light being cast by the fire, but I prefer the simple interpretation.
I always wanted to do a Gondolin piece, so I took the opportunity.
I did this almost entirely at =Gold-Seven's watercolour workshop at Aachen, last weekend, getting advice and inspiration from her profound knowledge of watercolour and the Tolkien universe as well as encouragement from the other participants.
